That viral security cam footage inadvertently makes for the greatest punk video of all time

You may have seen the security footage that recently went viral, showing a couple chased through a Reddi Mart convenience store by a police officer, trying to evade the cop and hilariously making matters worse for themselves in an escalating comedy of errors.

Many commenters on social media (like John Gholson, who put the video on my radar), were quick to hail it as silent comedy. Others quipped that it was suited for comical music like the Benny Hill theme.

Armed with these ideas, I set to finding a suitable soundtrack from my music library, looking at songs of roughly the same length as the video.

And boy, did it go even better than expected.

I landed on “Pretty Face Divided”, by the enigmatic band Neon Horse. This isn’t really even one of their stronger songs, but when combined with that video… I couldn’t stop cackling while editing it. Amazingly, both the music and lyrics sync up nearly perfectly to the video – no edits were made to the timing or speed of the video or the song.

Here’s a link to the original footage, posted online by CTV News Edmonton:

Buy the album on Amazon (seriously, it’s great):
